Virgin Coconut Oil |
| |
|
| |
Botanical –
Cocos nucifera |

Coconut
tree has a long history of providing man with
useful materials for his daily life. Coconut
oil is recognized as health oil in Ayurvedic
medicine. Almost 4000 years ago
Virgin coconut oil was obtained by the
mechanical process, application of mild heat
treatment not exceeding 60 0C.
Virgin coconut oil opens a valuable new
dimension in healthy food, not
only because it is cholesterol and trans fat
free, but rich in medium chain “Good Fats” which
nutritionists now discovered to be part of a
healthy diet. Coconut oil contains only
one percent omega-6 MCFAs and contains fewer
calories than other types of fatty acids:
therefore using coconut oil in place of other
oils reduces a person’s caloric intake.
