Cardamom Oil

  Botanical - Elettaria cardamomum

Two main varieties of cardamom are grown in SRI LANKA. The commercial variety that is cultivated is the one botanically identified as E. cardamomum. The other variety is wild cardamom or Elleteria ensal. The latter is now commercially distilled except for special orders.

E. cardamomum – Fruits are specially selected from prime stock for distillation. The contamination free “splits” are ideal. The post harvest preparation is carefully monitored as in the selection of the raw material. Sri Lanka cardomoms possess a distinctive organoleptic appeal.
