Pepper is a vine that is grown with the support of an improvised
structure.Pepper is often cultivated with in
coconut plantations. The mature berries are
sun-dried, and they form the spice Black
Pepper Steam distillation of the pepper which
gives the essential oil of pepper. The oleoresin
of pepper too could be produced by solvent
extraction, and thus oleoresin contains the
essential oil as well as the pungent principles.
The Sri Lankan pepper gives a good essential oil
with a high content of aroma-giving terpenes.
Black pepper oil is used as anthelminitic,
antipyretic, carminative, expectorant and as
stimulant.
